NVIDIA will release the RTX 3000 series graphics card for the laptop version in January 2021. There are 3 graphics cards being prepared, namely the RTX 3080, 3070, and 3060. RTX 3000 graphics cards for laptops are likely to have slightly lower specifications and performance than the desktop version. . This can be seen in the mobile RTX 3080 variant that uses the GA-104 GPU, not the GA-102 used on the desktop variant.

The RTX 3080 mobile will have 6144 CUDA cores, which is less than the desktop variant which has 8704 CUDA cores. The clock speed is expected to be the same as the desktop variant, namely 1.7 GHz. Meanwhile, the memory bus will be reduced to 256-bit. This is to suppress the TDP GPU RTX 3080, so it doesn't get too hot when working on a laptop. Then, for VRAM on the RTX 3080 mobile it will have a capacity of 8 GB or 16 GB.


The RTX 3070 will also use the GA-14 GPU, but with a smaller number of CUDA cores, namely 5120 cores. The memory bus still uses 256-bit, but VRAM is only available for a capacity of 8 GB. As for the RTX 3060, it will use the GA-106 with 3072 CUDA cores. Then for the memory bus it will use 192-bit and 6GB of VRAM.
